Dig Deep celebrates 10th Year anniversary with company challenge launches

Dig Deep is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this month.

We will be holding a fundraising dinner at Crypt on the Green, Clerkenwell London on the 26th October to celebrate.

Dig Deep was founded in 2007 and by the end of 2016 Dig Deep had built taps and toilets that serve over 19,500 people at any one time. Over the next five years we expect that these same toilets and taps will provide clean water and improved sanitation for more than 34,000 people.

James Houghton is the Kenyan based Assistant Director of the charity: - “We know that children pass on their learning to their families. This means that the training we have delivered so far will also benefit up to an additional 51,000 people indirectly and could contribute to improved hygiene practices for as many as 110,000 people in the next 5 years.”

The anniversary comes at an exciting time for us. Over the last ten years the vast majority of our funding has been donated from University students fundraising by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. Whilst we're extremely proud of the on-going support we receive from the student population, we are now offering a variety of challenges to companies large and small who want to offer something unique for their staff.

Ben Skelton, UK based Director said: - “Whether you want to support staff setting up their own team and conducting their own fundraising, or whether you want to offer one of our challenges as part of a reward, leadership or wellbeing package we can assist- Ben added “We are well supported by students, and sports clubs across the UK and we hope to see these ties deepening with HR Directors within companies too.”

The challenges are the perfect addition to a reward, wellbeing and benefits strategy for companies. As the projects fund clean water and sanitation projects in Kenya, it will help companies achieve their Corporate Social responsibility targets at the same time.
